dare to care..

Lama sangat xmenulis berkurun2..of course bkurun..sbb bersawang blog ni..lagi la lately banyak nk kena pikir..otak rasa macam tersekat cerebrospinal fluid di midbrain..pons pun rasa ketat..bernafas pun gasping n cheyne stokes breathing..whyla december ada 31 hari je bukannya 60 hari..
sebenarnya monsoon kali ni betul2 membekukan idea..agaknya sejuk sgt ..

this monsoon possibly brings a lot of 'happines'

One not-so-fine day,mendung x bersalji di kuala terengganu..dgn awan di langit memberi petanda akan mencurah lagi hujan yang dikandung tanpa gerimis menjadi tanda 'show'..

..A story of A patient who came at 15 minutes past 3pm..tetapi BAKAL diberi date yang lain sbb dah dtg lambat..and now kn sistem dh berkomputer.so kena la ikut jadual staggered time katanya..tmbhn pula doktor semua dh naik ward..

scr xsengaja i met them at the corridor..in front of the clinic..

A very young parents with their small baby..(kebetulan time tu ttinggal barang di klinik..so lps lunch patah balik..terserempak la mereka ni..)

"nak pi mana ni?klinik pakar ker?"..

"ho..lewat sikit hari ni.."jwb ayahnya..

"ni bukan lewat sikit.. lewat banyak ni encik..biasanya kami 2.30pm plg lewat abis clinic"-saje aku bg hints kt dia.

"nak buat mcmana doktor..td anak dr pagi buat pe'el xbhenti nangis..saya plop bawak moto jer..pastu tghari nampak cerah sikit..pg2 tadi gelap guggup alik nung (he means it was too cloudy)"-sambung ayahnya.

"meh masuk dalam saya tengok"-aku sgt tsentuh dh ksusahn dia ni..kalo org xphm sure nak pertikaikn kenapa dtg lewat..tp pernahkh kita bayang mcmana nak bawak moto dgn anak meronta..dahla usianya baru 26 hari..pastu bawak plop naik moto and hari mendung nak hujan monsoon2 ni blom masuk dgn angin sesejuk salju winter sonata lagi..tebal mana sgt la balut cover anak ni menahan rahmat cuaca di bumi pantai timur ni..

Bukala fail HIS nya..fast lane case (means : to-be-seen fast case)..lo..nk check LFT normal ke x je..not more than 10 minutes for me to check it plus physical exam.. the effort required for them to come to clinic was so greatly disproportionate(mcm kesian je)..blom lg td dh nk batal TCA nya..utk tarikh lain..maybe ni bukan luarbiasa berlaku..agaknya pesakit2 di klinik lain pun mungkin menghadapi problem yang sama..

Staff nurse bgtau dh tried call doktor yg jg fastlane few times tp xdpt2..doktor lain semua dh naik..(but personally i think any doctor can be called actually)

It is UNFAIR at all at any given time we subject the patient for another appointment just because a lame excuse as above is the issue..

Patient should have some oppurtunities to have good medical n health services comparable with what private practitioner can offer(wpun ada byk doktor yg pakar demam n selsema jer).

of course ..we dont want to be specialised in this..

If they dont come WE MUST CALL THEM (kena risau kalo mereka xdtg sbb ini tanda kepercayaan mereka pada kita) FIND THE REASON.(jgn marah2plop terus mana tahu ada kematian ke kt rumah mereka..logicla kalo xdtg clinic).

If they want to come BUT they couldnt make it on that particular day..GIVE THEM ANY DATE THAT THEY CAN MAKE IT..EASE THEM ..not dictate them to come first and we see later if u can come or not..of course they cant come eventually..berapa byk pesakit diabetic or HPT.. i believe yg retinopathy ..special age group warga emas mcm diaorg ni xdpt dtg dgn tepat semua temujanji..why bother bg jugop temujanji kalo siang2 dh pakcik n makcik ni bbuih bgtau boleh x amik tarikh lain (but frequently the answer : xpe dtg dulu,kalo xdpt dtg laun ceriter? What a kindergarten answer we provide).

If they can come at another date either to postpone or to make it earlier..DO ACCEPT THEM..since they know better their own needs..TEACH THEM TO CALL US BY LOOKING AT THE CONTACT NUMBER WRITTEN AT THE BACK COVER OF THE APPOINTMENT BOOK..

If they do come MAKE SURE U ASK THEM ANY QUESTIONS THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO ASK US OR ANYTHING WE COULD HELP THEM?GIVE THEM AN AMPLE OF TIME TO TALK WITH US AND DISCUSS THEIR PROBLEM WITH US..why should we be in hurried..remember that a major effort might been given by them just to attend the follow up(boleh jadi mereka dtg jauh naik bus dr hulu setiu semata2nk suruh doktor check anak cerebral palsy yg mana most of the time the damage is so irreversible and beyond help with no medications can cure it-unless time.so bg la sesuatu yg kita mampu tolong as a doctor.

and to PRACTICE a good medical care sometimes doesnt mean to offer everything UNDER THE SUN..

do NO  harm n unncessary things unto them..

last but not least ...TREAT THEM AS WHAT WE EXPECTED OTHERS TO TREAT US/OUR FAMILY..

Kadang2 kata orang "not all disease need a treatment,sometimes they only need is a care"..

Show some cares..mudahkan hidup orang lain..berfikirlah utk kemudahan pesakit not to finish the clinic early so it will look so effectively done..

*tp kalo ada pesakit yg tikam doktor dgn pisau sbb lmbt tengok tu susah sikit nk komen.

** some patients' parents are also an aggressive type.no doubt, we are so nauseated with them.

we can..if we start to be dare to care..

sesuatu yg biasa bg kita boleh jadi luarbiasa utk org lain..
