A good lie..

Ermmmm..kdg2 kreativiti begitu mbantu..(or maybe not kadang2..tetapi setiap masa.)..adalah sstu yg boleh dibanggakan apabila mengetahui bilamana usaha anda sebagai doktor mendapat kerjasama parents' pesakit..'bersubahat' menjaga kebajikan anak adalah satu tindakan yg sgt bijak..

Ni nak share 1 pglmn yg boleh diberikan kredit-of course not for me.while i was doing my routine round recently, i saw a mother who was giving her daughter 5 -specially made -white pellets(tablet looking pills)..i thought they're homeopathic pills(as some parents do practice self medication for their children).



i should pattern this as "harta intelek" for the bread company..



Gardenia should be proud with this "inventation" that save lives..


Guess what...actually when i have a look at it closely ..they're actually a bread(gardenia)-coated prednisolone(s).i found out that she created such a good 'camouflage' as her child needs regular prednisolone high dose oral treatment(the child has nephrotic syndrome-sakit penuras buah pinggang yg melepaskn protein2 penting di dalam air kencing..kebiasaanya pesakit akan mengalami bengkak mata n anggota badan,serta perut).

see.. the swelling eyelids..in nephrotic patient.

I was so amazed the way she put an effort unto it..obviously it is so creative.sgt bijok n hebak kalo org tganu kata..

FYI,prednisolone adlh ubat di bawah kategori 'very not palatable'..biasanya ibubapa yang mengalah terlebih dahulu apabila anak start to throw themselves into tantrums as they try to refuse the medications.few significant numbers of patients will default the treatment by not taking the medications.but this particular mother is so brilliant(wpun dia adalah seorg housewife yg mmg dtgnya dr kampung)..she knows how to outwit her daughter for a good reason..a good lie for a good reason indeed..

she told me : never show any kind of expression to indicate that u r giving up even if the child starts to refuse it..(of course this is so difficult to be carried out..in which most of the mothers fail to do so.)

See..sometimes patients/parents do teach u some lessons which not being taught in your med school textbook provided u can lend your eyes and ears to learn from them..and remember more importantly the focus is the patient..
**sekarang aku dh boleh gunakan contoh ni kalo nak nasihatkan parents how to handle this similar potential problem in future..
